OCT 15, 2005
Update! We here at The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets have lifespans well beyond that of our mortal fanbase. As a result, our plans tend to take decades to unfold. For the faithful, you are rewarded for your endless servitude with not one but TWO online editions of the People of Innsmouth fanclub newsletter! We have the second most recent copy (#36) as well as a blast from the past (#26).

MAY 23, 2002
If you haven't heard, and with the way the page is updated you probably haven't, game publishers Wizards of the Coast released a special edition of d20 Call of Cthulhu featuring a 12 song CD of our music to go along with it. You had to buy the book online to get the CD and they went like hotcakes!

Well it appears that some extra disc have surfaced and you can buy your copy of Let Sleeping Gods Lie through our wonderful record company Divine Industries.

So please were Wizards with our CD that there is now talk of us playing GenCon again this year. This is just a rumour so don't book your ticket yet. Unless you are already going to GenCon for other reasons. Then just ignore what I said. Anyway, I'll keep you posted.

---

MAY 2, 2002
It's true. I've been slack with my updates. If you even frequent this page anymore, you'll have figured that out on your own. BUT i have two items to share with you all!

ITEM ONE: We have not one but TWO new People of Innsmouth newsletters up on the web. Issues 34 and 35 await your hateful glare so click the NEWSLETTER link to head their way!

ITEM TWO: We are playing a show May 10th as part of New Music West. We are headlining the show at the Royal in Vancouver. More info on the GIGS page. Come on down and check us out.

JANUARY 5, 2002
Happy New Year you creeps! Not sure what you did but i beat Metal Gear Solid 2 and ate ice cream to ring in the New Year. Hooray for me! My resolution was to rock out even more this year and so i shall! We have gigs a plenty to make it happen. You will most definitely want to come to the Cobalt on the 19th of January to see the big reunion show with us and the Real McKenzies. Click the GIGS link to see the full list.

In other news, we are hopefully releasing a compilation cd with the March release of d20 Call of Cthulhu. It isn't for sure but we are voting on the name of the promo cd that will go along with the book. Cast your votes here and of course, buy a copy with our CD in it.

Finally to celebrate the birth of Christ, you should download this flash game and play it. You won't regret a single moment. Except when you burn in the fires of hell for laughing so hard. Click here to go play Castlevania 2 like you never have.

---

NOVEMBER 28, 2001
We have some dates on some upcoming shows including one with Bad Brains, um i mean Soul Brains (they changed their name) at the Fabulous Commodore! Wow! January will see us on the island. Go to the gigs page for more info!

---

NOVEMBER 8, 2001
We're back from tour! It was fun. Fab D (as we call them) and The Real McKenzies were great. There were a few teary eyes when we parted company i tells ya! The tour diary will get posted once i get my school caught up. I got my photos back. They look good. And of course what's a tour without getting your stuff stolen! This time Regina was the scene of the crime. Busted the rear windows and stole some dirty laundry. We were lucky. They didn't get anything of real value. But more on that later!

---

OCTOBER 11, 2001
More revisions to the tour dates.

Montreal show has been moved to the 29th. A Kingston show has been added. Jasper has been cancelled. More shows to be added. Hopefully we can get things updated from the road.

---

OCTOBER 2, 2001
More revisions to the tour dates.

The Sudbury show is cancelled. A show in Guelph, ONT has been added. A show in Barrie, ONT has also been added. A show in Jasper, AB has also been added. The Edmonton venue has been confirmed as Stars. Check out the GIGS page for updates.

---

SEPTEMBER 30, 2001
Some revisions to the tour dates.

The Humboldt show is cancelled. A show in London, ONT has been added. The St. Catherine's show has been moved. Check out the GIGS page for updates.

Also, we are heading out with another band called Fabulous Disaster. They are a all girl band from San Francisco. They are on FAT Records with The Real McKenzies. So that is three rocking bands for the price of one concert ticket. How can you lose? Other than having your soul blasted to oblivion by our deadly version of Cthulhu rock.

---

SEPTEMBER 25, 2001
The early dates for the tour are in. Start spreading the news. We're leaving today! Actually October 11th. Just click on the GIGS button to see the tour itinerary.

SEPTEMBER 24, 2001
We're at it again!!! We are heading out on a Canadian tour in October. Dates will be posted as they come in. We are most certainly playing at Area 51 on October 11th in Chilliwack, BC. I encourage you all to come and see us play.

In a sadder note, we won't be playing the HP Lovecraft Film Festival in Portland, OR. If you can't afford to follow us across Canada then i ask you please, go watch this years batch of HPL films. The festival is the 19th to 21st of October. Tell Andrew that the Thickets sent you. OH! Our other bass player Bob even has a film in it. The Terrible Old Man. 50 quatludes to the first person to bring me a film fest review!

AUGUST 12, 2001
The video release party was held this weekend. Unfortunately the place we wanted to release it at wouldn't let us show it. So we took the party to the ANZA club for cheap beer and loose women. We got cheap beer anyway. If you didn't get to see the video and want to, we will be attempting to play it at the Cobalt gig on the 18th of this month.

THIS JUST IN! Our video will be played on Muchmusic on the 16th of August, between 2 and 2:30pm Eastern Time. I think that makes it 5 - 5:30 out here on the coast. Tune and watch. Feel free to email various Muchmusic programs to request the video and make us famous by clicking HERE

---

JULY 11, 2001
Mon Dieu! What a weekend! We just finished shooting for the 'Sounds of Tindalos' video and I think it will be pretty darn funny. I don't want to give away the concept to those that don't know but we dress up like aliens (if you can believe that!) and we abduct beautiful girls to party with us. There's more but that is the basic idea. Thanks to all the people that came out to be extras and the cast and crew that helped make this a reality. Most of all, thanks to VideoFact for giving us the cash!

Toren, our man from Rungistan, is putting on a big birthday bash for HP Lovecraft's birthday. That means a gig by yours truly! The party is August 18 & 19 and you can get more details by clicking HERE

---

MAY 25, 2001
We have a big old rock show at the Brickyard on June 2nd. Playing with Flash Bastard and Canned Hamm. Come on down and rock with us!

The video is coming along nicely. Spoke with Scott Winlaw, the director, and the concept is pretty funny. We dress up like aliens (if you can believe that) and we 'rescue' hot chicks and take them dancing. There's even a dance number at the end! I love musicals so I'm excited.

Spaceship Zero the Roleplaying Game is almost done. We are on the last three weeks of writing then it goes to the editor and printers! Wow! Soon you'll be able to play the crew as they blow up the universe.

APRIL 29, 2001
Been a busy couple of months for me. First of all I'm an uncle. April 22 at 12:23 am. Baby girl named Maggie Eaton Banks. She's beautiful. I'm a proud, proud uncle I tellz ya! I had the pleasure of being there for the birth and boy was that amazing. I didn't look at the sensitive areas. I figured I'd save that for my wife/girlfriend when she gives birth. Not to mention being unable to look my sister in law in the eye for the next while. So now I'm off to buy my niece a cool present. Did I mention she's so cute?

In band news, we got accepted for a Videofact grant! What does that mean to you common folk? Well it means that we get to make a video and have Videofact help foot some of the bill. That means a more expensive and hopefully cool looking video that probably won't get airplay on MuchMusic but we can only hope. We will be meeting with Scott Winlaw of Blitzkrieg Cinema next week to discuss the video and I'll keep you all posted on new updates!

Finally, we have been accepted to New Music West again this year. We will be playing May 12th at the Penthouse in Vancouver, BC. The set starts at 11 pm and we will be opening up for the Saddlesores (cowpunk) and 80's Canadian metal icon Thor. You may remember him and his feats of strength on stage. Bending metal bars in his mouth, etc. Should be a good time. Hope to see you there.

Oh ya, we will be attempting a Canadian tour in June so keep your eyes peeled for more details.

MARCH 27th, 2001
Well we are back from Alberta and boy what a ride! First stop Golden and Ophelia the stripper. She was a little upset with us taking away two shows from her and kept hitting us up for $90 to do a nude gogo dance while we played. We gracefully declined. Let's just say there is a reason she is stripping in Golden. Of course the stipper pole obscured our performance. I wish Toren could be just a little more adventurous. We could have made that pole really work for us.

Next was Calgary on St. Patrick's Day. I got pissed. We played what I thought was a good show. I am looking forward to going back. Contrary to popular belief, drinking does NOT help you forget your troubles. But it was worth a try.

Last stop was Edmonton for the CON*fusion gig. I love playing for these people. So much fun. So greatful. The club loved us too. I'm really excited to head back to the city of champions and rock the house party at the drop of a hat. Played with a band that had a giant inflated penis. Needless to say, I had to watch my back all night!

So the next gig appears to be in Vancouver at the Rage. April 11th. Supporting Genetically Engineered Food. Well the Benefit is against Genetically Engineered Food but what they don't know won't hurt them.

---

MARCH 5th, 2001
Remember those Alberta dates? Well they are finally in! We'll be in Golden, BC as well as Calgary and Edmonton. Exciting no? Go check out the GIGS page to see a little more info.

---

JANUARY 25th, 2001
Things just keep getting crazier here at Thicket central!

Jordan our current drummer got married in Vegas over the holidays! Congrats to him.

Bob Fugger our flakey bass player is working on a new movie called The Terrible Old Man. It is a liberal adaptation of the HPL short story of the same name. For more details go to the Titan Entertainment web site. It is Bob's make believe movie company.

Toren and I have been slaving away on Spaceship Zero the Roleplaying Game and will be running demonstrations at CONspiracy and Decepticon. Come enjoy the destruction of reality with us!

And of course, we will be playing in Alberta in March. Dates to follow soon.

---

JANUARY 17th, 2001
I've been delinquent in my updates but here goes!

First of all, Happy New Year. I resolved to play more D&D. Here's hoping I don't break my resolution. I'm going to try my hardest. Saw Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon on New Year's and boy was it worth it. If you haven't seen it by now, go!

We finally have the NEW T-shirts and Hooded Sweatshirts (Merrick calls them Hoodies) and they look pretty darn cool! There is even vine like writing on the sleeves! Go to the Thickets band page to see how to place orders.

The new year is starting to heat up a bit for us. We are trying out new bass players and drummers to go out on tour. We look to be heading to Alberta in March and even down the west coast in May. Want to get us in your town? Drop us a line so we can get club info.

Finally, the SSZ roleplaying game nears completion! It will be put out by Green Ronin Press and should be in stores by August. Interested in playtesting? Drop us a line!

---

DECEMBER 8th, 2000
Well I finally found some time to update so here goes!

Big thanks to the Riff Randells and Chixdiggit for a wonderful tour. For those of you who don't think that the Riff Randells can't party then you are in for a big surprise. Those girls drank us under the table every night. But Thickets you guys don't really drink! Those girls still know how to PAR-TEY!

Oh and let's hear it for Chixdiggit! If you saw the shows, you'll know what I'm talking about.

---

OCTOBER 27th, 2000
We have some more shows lined up! The end of November with Chixdiggit out of Calgary and Vancouver Mint Record recording artists The Riff Randals. What is with Mint and Calgary that keeps coming back to us? Check the GIGS page for more details.

There is a Mythos writing contest at the IMELOD page with prizes donated by us! Click HERE to check out the details.

---

OCTOBER 24th, 2000
We're back! It was truly an awesome tour! I will post a tour report later but for now let me just say that we met some great people along the way. It was a huge thrill to finally get out on the road and meet some of the fans. Looks like we may be back out across Canada in March but as usual don't hold me to that.

In the meantime we have a Hallowe'en show coming up! Check out the GIGS page for more details.

---

SEPTEMBER 30th, 2000
Well the CD Release parties went OK. But in true Thicket fashion, they were not without their share of problems. The Chilliwack show saw us with only 8 CD's to sell. OOPS! On the brightside, we sold out! And of course the Vancouver show saw the ANZA club get double booked with another group of bands. It is to laugh!

Now on to the Cross Canada Tour(tm)! See the GIGS page for details.

---

SEPTEMBER 22nd, 2000
Our date at CMJ (college music journal) music festival is confirmed. We will be in New York on October 20th at the Wetlands. Is there a downstairs to this place? Cause the booking agent told me we were playing Wetlands downstairs.

---

SEPTEMBER 19th, 2000
I guess Huevos Rancheros thought we were really cool because we are heading out on a Cross Canadian Tour(tm) with them. Go check the dates on the GIGS page.

We also have some upcoming shows in September. Two CD release parties. One in Chilliwack and one in Vancouver. Only the Chilliwack one is set. I'll post the Vancouver info when I get it.

---

SEPTEMBER 15th, 2000
More news on the CD! We now have a Canadian distributor. Indie Pool is handling our disk! Here's more from our illustrious record company Divine Industries...

"The distributor will be indie pool and yes it will be at HMV A&B and Sams

HMV Online as well as other online retailers will also be carrying it. As for enquiring minds...asking about why it hasn't appeared at these brick& motor outlets version of online shopping is because we actually haven't released the album to retail as of yet."

---

SEPTEMBER 5th, 2000
Well apparently you can now buy our new CD 'Spaceship Zero: The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack' on Amazon.com and soon CDNow.com. Neat huh?

---

AUGUST 21st, 2000
Just got back from the four day mini-tour with Huevos Rancheros! A bunch of great guys. The highlight had to be a crappy show in Langley, BC where two members of the opening band fought each other on the floor in front of us while we played. It was a shining moment in rock history I tells ya!

Who are Huevos Rancheros? Go to their web page to find out more!

---

AUGUST 6th, 2000
It's here! The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets newest album is here!

I got an email from the record company saying that they will pick it up from the plant on Tuesday the 8th. Monday is a holiday in BC so we must wait a day. You may then buy away!

Also I will be heading to geek ground zero, GENCON in Milwaukee, WI. If you are going to be there, stop by the Chaosium or Pagan Publishing booth to pick up our new album. I may even be working the Pagan booth. You could say hi. More than likely, I'll be gaming my geeky heart out.

---

AUGUST 1st, 2000
First thing is first! In a message dated August 1st from Divine Industries (our record company) Allen Moy was quoted as saying "The CD's will be here by the weekend". If that isn't reason to rejoice, I don't know what is. Get that cash out!

Also, we have some more dates on the Huevos Rancheros tour in August, so stop by the Gigs page to get more info.

---

JULY 22th, 2000
Mosey on over to the Newsletter page to take a gander at POI #33!

---

JULY 21th, 2000
We have some upcoming dates in August in BC with Huevos Rancheros. Confirmed dates are on the GIGS page. Stay tuned for more updates....

---

JULY 9th, 2000
Yes I know the CD should be out by now. But it isn't. I hope it will be soon. Our record company has a street date of Aug.1st. I hope it will be out by then.

We are the cover story of this month's Nerve magazine, a free magazine out of Vancouver. It is a funny interview and you can find it online at the Nerve magazine site. Go have a look.

---

JUNE 13th, 2000
The show in Edmonton was awesome! I wish all our crowds could be that cool. Got to meet some long time fans and made some new ones. Too Cool.

Thomas Falk our second guitarist who happens to live in New York, is also responsible for the electronica on our new album (apparently due the first week of July) and has a kitten named Catulhu. Click here to see a pic of the Yank and his cat.
---

JUNE 3rd, 2000
New shows on the horizon. One in Edmonton in June. One in Vancouver in July. Check the gigs section for more info.

Our temporary vice-president for life Christina Copeland had a baby back in April. Morgan Magdelena Anastasia. We usually frown on this kinda behaviour but Christina promised to buy more stuff to make up for it.
---

MAY 25th, 2000
The album has now been mastered. It is being critiqued for exacting sound quality. That means it should be out by June. But don't hold me to that. In the meantime we are working on the merchadise angle as you read this.

Go look at Divine Industries web page. You will see that our moniker dominates yet again! You thought you had us beat didn't you Coco Love Alcorn? I laugh at you!
---

MAY 18th, 2000
Well the tour with Furnaceface went very well. We were interviewed by the Canadian Music Station MuchMusic (tune in May 28th to the MuchWest program), received a very good review of our live performance in the reputable local music mag 'The Georgia Straight', got ourselves a booking agent and made more friends in general!

Now you can expect to see us in October/November in the Ontario/Quebec provinces opening up for GWAR! Thanks new booking agent. As for our American fans, you may be able to get MuchMusic if you have a satellite connection. If not, we will place the interview on a tape that will eventually be for sale.
---

MAY 5th, 2000
Now that the dust on the tour dates have settled, it appears as though we will only be playing in BC. For Now. In June we will be heading to Edmonton which will also mean Calgary I hope. I'll keep you all posted. In the meantime, check the GIGS page for more info on the May dates.
---

APRIL 28th, 2000
What's this? Another update? Sure is because we are heading out on the road with Furnace Face.

Jordan and Bob can't go so we have recruited a boat load of Chinese immigrants to play bass and drums for us. The dates are not set yet but we should be heading through BC to Alberta. Sorry Saskatchewan. We'll make it there yet.
---

APRIL 27th, 2000
Well Maybe I spoke too soon. We have been selected by the promotions people at Beer.com to do an interview for CTV. We are slipping in the standings too, so if you haven't voted at least 5 times yet, then get on it. More details on the interview forthcoming.
---

APRIL 19th, 2000
OK, enough of that stupid Beer.com contest (which ends Apr.30th).

I just got a copy of one of our new publicity shots from Bob. Check it out!

Click HERE to see us in all our glory!
---

APRIL 6th, 2000
We are in the finals of the Beer.com battle of the bands contest. Now we need your support!

If we get enough votes, we get to go on a 3 city tour, all expenses paid. A lucky voter of the winning band gets to come see us play.

Please vote for us. Go to Beer.com and vote for us. Remember, you must be logged on to Beer.com to vote, so register if you haven't or log on if you have.

Click on the newsletter link to see issues 28 and 32.

MARCH 20th, 2000
A new look for The People of Innsmouth Webbed Page!
How do you like it? Let me know. Click on the little mailbox below to email me.

Why did I do it? Well a couple of reasons.

First, I was tired of the old page. I felt it was time for something new. A fresh, new look so to speak.
Second, the old page had a bunch of sections that were being neglected. I got rid of those.
Third, the old page needed some new sections. What better way to fit them in then to remodel the whole page?
Finally, I only get 2MB with my email account so it was time for some spring cleaning. Out goes the old, large files. In goes less files that take up less room. You may notice that the POI newsletter is now on another server. Had to be done or I wouldn't have been able to put anymore newsletters up. Like you guys care.
