Inaltulafquén Inn

Tipical Botero

This is a typical botero, or boatman that you'd find in Lican Ray. His life is totally centered on the lake. This man can row for hours and hours without tiring even when wind and waves are on the lake. He'll take you to where the fish are biting and you'd better be prepared for a good fight 'cause that fish isn't going to come out of the water without puting up a good battle.!

Beach Vendor

Typical vendor of cuchufli and mani (a typical chilean pastry filled with soft caramel, and peanuts). In the summer, when the beaches are packed with people, these vendors weave through the throngs of people carpeting the beaches adding color and entertainment to the beaches.

Crowded Beach, Playa Grande

You think maybe we were exaggerating about the beaches getting packed in Lican Ray? (You can be assured that we didn't pay all these people to pose for this photo!)

Villarrica Volcano, Summer Fruit

That's Villarrica Volcano in the background, and, No, the water hasn't turned my hair green. I was about to set out on a drift-fishing trip down the Tolten River and had forgotten to bring a hat to protect my head from the strong mid-day sun.

Fish for barbecue

At mid-day we stopped to barbecue some of the fish we caught in our fishing trip. Here the fish are resting on a "grill" fashioned out of native shrubs, waiting their turn at being roasted over hot coals.

Morning bech front view

This is an early-morning beach view that you could see from a beach-front room in the Inaltulafquén Inn.

Sunset in front of Inn

Another of the typical and frequent sunset views which we enjoy over and over from the Inaltulafquén Inn.

Chilean barbecue

A typical barbecue -- Chilean Style -- almost ready to serve.
