Downriver's Extended Family!
I feel like I am the luckiest person in the world who has ever decided to breed a liter of pups. All of my Cattle Dog pups, and both litters of Sprite's pups went to wonderful homes - I couldn't have dreamt for a better outcome!! And, to top it off - everybody is happy to keep in touch, visit, and send lots of pictures! I could brag for hours - but for now, here's some highlights.

Diesel is owned, trained, and loved by Mary Young. He was the first of my pups that went to a working home, with a talented handler that kept me up to date on his accomplishments!! Diesel became a model for a pet store, and Mary sent me flyers for my scrap book. He did AWESOME!! After winning 'best puppy in Group', and a couple of adult group placements, he's now a super dog - and he's SUPER!!! He travels all over to compete and give demonstrations - encouraging beginner handlers and dogs to go onto do something they love!

Downriver Blue
'Blue' was one of the pups in our first Sprite litter, sired by Lee Lumb's Lad dog. Lana put every effort into this pup, creating a positive atmosphere for his upbringing and giving him steady exposure to top class trainers, stock time, and eventually his own ranch/training facility to look after! She has come an incredible way - taking him all the way to the US National Finals and the Nursery cow-dog class. He works very much like his mom - a little pushy, stubborn, but feels his stock and needs few commands to keep control. His authoritative approach to livestock will keep any cow in line. Lana, I can't thank you enough!!

Downriver Ming
'Ming' is another pup from that first Sprite/Lad litter. Kent and Darcy are his parents, with Kent Bradley acting as his trainer and handler. He lives on a farm in Bellingham, and helps Kent with the chores, as well as competes in several trial programs. It is not unusual to see Ming receiving awards during trial wind-ups, with several High in Trials, 1st place and good sportsmanship gifts! Kent & Ming make an incredible team - and I am so proud of them! .....

There were nine pups in this fist litter, and all but one went to working homes. Two are on working cattle ranches in BC's Interior. Downriver Lex is competing and being handled by Kathy Brighton. Downriver Mountain Dew lives here with us, and will hopefully be stepping into Sprite & Pepsi's shoes one day as back-up dogs. Kent is working with her to give her stock time, and to give him some valuable handling experience.

Sprite's second litter went just as well as the first - every breeder's dream!!! The sire is Caledonia Mac (owned by Lee Lumb). The pups are gorgeous, and once again - all went to working homes except one! We have had several reunions with most pups coming around - it's been so much fun. They were born June 1, 2003 - so by the December/93 Winter Series, they were six months old. Click on this link to see pictures and info on each pup!
