Graduated with a Computer Systems Diploma in the Applied Artificial Intelligence Option
in November 1996. Some of the courses I took included introductory courses in C, C++, PC
Assembler, COBOL, Lisp, and Prolog. I took courses in C graphics, introductory network
theory, computer hardware, and systems analysis and design. I also took some business
courses including accounting, marketing, economics, and statistics. The Applied Artificial
Intelligence option introduced me to the theory and application of concepts including expert
systems and neural nets.
Hope Secondary School
Graduated in 1994 with $175 in Provincial Passport to Education credits and a $250 bursary
from Transmountain Pipeline Co. Courses taken included math and physics up to grade 12,
French and electronics to grade 11, and the career preparation program which included the
provincial Superhost program.

I was the first employee at this company, which now has around a dozen. I had a hand in
building almost every piece of software used. We created a multi-database Lotus Notes
application for public health professionals with a public web front end, as well as many
internal databases. I worked almost entirely in Lotus Notes/Domino gaining mastery of
LotusScript and @Formula, including a lot of web development gaining expertise with HTML
& CSS & JavaScript, and also did some SQL & PHP with MySQL.

I started my own web site development / hosting company in 1997. The
main focus of the company was a website about the Hope area,
www.rainbowcountry.bc.ca.
I shut down the company in the summer of 2001, and now maintain the
website as a hobby.
Since high school I have spent almost no time without being in school or holding some
kind of job. I was a baker, a bartender, and a Subway Sandwich Artist. I even spent some
time sorting paper for recycling. The details are commented out in the HTML source code
for this page, if you're curious.
Other Experience :
- As part of the work experience program in high school, I spent every Monday for two months
at the head office of Overwaitea Foods in Langley doing odd computer related jobs like
software installation and data entry.
- I installed the high school's computerized card catalogue system, for which I received a
service pin.
- I graduated from high school with the award for Outstanding Achievement in Computer
Science.
- As part of my COMP 4900 course at BCIT, my two team members and I created an appliance
repair guide web system. This was a joint project between BCIT and Kwantlen University
College.

Personal Information :
I was born on January 23rd, 1976, in Terrace BC. I lived in several northern towns until I
moved to Hope in 1990, where I graduated from high school in 1994. I lived in Burnaby for
the next two and a half years while studying at BCIT. When I graduated, I moved back home.
I have been playing with computers since we got our first Commodore VIC-20 when I was around
8 years old, and I have known what I wanted to do ever since.
