Kamloops International Airshow

The Kamloops Airshow took place on August 5 in Kamloops, B.C. Unfortunately, weather conditions were far from perfect as there was strong wind gusts all day long. On top of that, there was a large forest fire approximately 5 kilometres away from the airport. Of course the wind had to blow directly at the crowd making visibility less than perfect.

The Snowbirds flew a very abbreviated show that resembled nothing of a typical performance. It was apparent from the ground that the cross-wind was creating some problems for formation flying, and the poor visibility made opposing solo manouevers impossible. The one good thing that resulted from the smoke was that I was able to get some great sunset shots.

Travis AFB Air Expo

The Travis AFB Air Expo took place on October 3 and 4. The Snowbirds were the headline act and were very well received. I took the photos below on Sunday, October 4.
